Dogs Available For Adoption
Ace
Sex: Male
Age: born 12/2/25
Breed: Puppy (mixed)
Weight:
Needs: Medical‑management home, no cats, no young children, ideally a dog companion
Ace is one of those rare puppies who steals your heart the moment you meet him. He came to us at 7 weeks old with his nine siblings, and although he was tiny and showing a few concerning symptoms, his spirit was bright from day one. After veterinary evaluation, Ace was diagnosed with a liver shunt, and later a CT scan revealed a second congenital defect involving his portal vein and caudal vena cava. This combination makes him too high‑risk for corrective surgery, even though we raised the funds and were fully prepared to pursue it.
Despite these challenges, Ace has surprised everyone.
❤️ How Ace Is Doing Today
With medication and a special diet, Ace’s symptoms improved dramatically. He is currently thriving, playful, curious, and full of personality. If you met him without knowing his medical history, you’d never guess he has anything going on. His condition is managed medically, and while no one can predict his exact lifespan or how long the medications will remain effective, Ace deserves to live whatever time he has in a loving, stable home.
🐶 Ace’s Personality & Ideal Home
Ace is sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to love. He’s an anomaly medically, but temperament‑wise he’s a gem.
He absolutely loves greeting people and soaking up all the attention — he’s a social butterfly who thinks every new person is his friend. Ace enjoys his toys and bones, entertains himself well, and is always up for a little playtime. He also rides beautifully in the car, making him an easy companion for errands, adventures, or vet visits.
He would do best in a home that can offer:
- No cats
- No young children (he does best with calm, predictable environments)
- A canine companion whose personality complements his own
- Someone committed to training and routine
- Three meals a day with medication (timing is flexible)
Ace is crate‑trained, walks well on leash, and adapts beautifully to structure. He’s smart, observant, and enjoys being part of daily life.
🌟 Why Ace Is Worth It
Ace is not a “sad case.” He is a joyful, resilient puppy who simply needs a home willing to love him without guarantees. He will give back every ounce of that love — and more. His medical needs are manageable, and his spirit is extraordinary.
He deserves a family who sees him not for his diagnosis, but for his sweetness, his courage, and the happiness he brings to everyone around him.
